Senegal’s Double Tyson wrestles down Gambia’s Sai Sai

The undefeated Senegalese wrestler, Double Tyson continued his fine unbeaten run in the Gambian wrestling arena by beating Gambia’s Sai Sai on Saturday night.

The fight, that lasted less than two minutes, saw the Kaolack-based wrestler beat the Gambian fighter, leaving many of the home wrestling followers disappointed after hearing the promises made by Sai Sai during the face-to-face (war of words).

Wrestling: France beat down Boy Balla

The Banjul-based wrestler France from Club Sakku Ham-Ham defeated Boy Balla of Jabang-Mbollo in a fight that lasted three minutes and thirty-six seconds on Sunday.

The bout that brought together thousands of Gambian wrestling followers, was held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

Wrestling used to be the country’s most popular sport but after years of dormancy, efforts are well underway to revive the traditional sport with the private sector slowly coming in to consolidate the efforts of the promoters.

One of those private sector actors making a name for itself in the wrestling domain is Gam Housing Real Estate, who for the second time have allocated plots of land to wrestlers after winning their bout, staged by local wrestling promoters in the country.
