Gambia put final touches ahead of Youth Olympics Game

Buenos Aires 2018 is getting ready to host 206 National Olympic Committees (NOC) from October 6-18 that will have 4000 young athletes vying for spots on the podium. One NOC that earned a spot at the Argentine capital is Gambia. And that was thanks to their men’s beach volleyball pair.

Jahara Koita and Sheikh Colley, the young athletes from Gambia qualified for the Youth Olympic Games after a brilliant performance in Algeria.

Gambia U-19 men Beach Volleyball team Enjoy Ministerial call

Gambia’s U-19 men’s beach volleyball team enjoyed a visit to the country’s Minister of Youth and Sports following their exploits at the African Youth Games earlier in July in Algeria, where they finished third to Mozambique and Ghana.
The result means they are through to the 3rd Youth Olympics Games in Argentina this year, and will be among Africa’s three nations to represent the continent in the beach volleyball series.

Gambia wins Gold at Zone 2 beach volleyball games

The Gambia senior men beach volleyball team made history on Sunday evening at the Palma Rima beach after triumphing over Sierra Leone in the finals of the Zone 2 beach volleyball.

The victory adds up to the country’s accolades in 4 years and is described as a major victory.

Gambia to Host Zone II Beach Volleyball Championship

The Gambia will host the eight nation Zone II Beach Volley ball championship in September.

The tournament will be staged from September 6th to 10th in Banjul, with Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Mali, Guinea, Mauritania, Guinea Bissau, Senegal and host Gambia expected to take part in championship to be competed in both male and female categories.
