Gambia handed tough task in intriguing YAG draw

The Gambia U-19 boys volleyball team are handed a tough task in their first ever appearance in the men indoor African Youth Games.

The Gambia is up against African heavyweights Nigeria, Tunisia and Madagascar in pool B of the 3rd edition of the youth Games to be hosted in Algeria in July.

The Gambia claimed top spot in the qualifiers after Senegal and Guinea failed to appear.

The Gambia would be the dark horses in the pool and will be looking for their first continental silverware. The enthusiasm of the Gambian team emerged from the famous African Dream project.

The Gambia ranked 1st in Zone will be the sole representative from the bloc and already the federation had appointed a coach and training is in earnest.
