Super Nawettan: Serekunda West fined and banned from hosting home matches

The Super Nawettan Organising Committee on Tuesday imposed a fined of D20,000 and a one-year ban on Serekunda West from hosting any home matches after their supporters’ behaviour in the encounter against rivals Serekunda East at the weekend.

The Organising Committee penalised West after one of their supporters threw a stone on the head of the assistant referee, leaving central referee Maudo Jallow with no option than to prematurely end the encounter that saw East secure a 2-0 win.

Muzzy Carayol suffers hip injury

Scorpions winger Mustapha Carayol has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks with a hip injury, Gambia Sports can report.

The 30-year-old missed Gambia’s 1-0 defeat to Togo in the return leg 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on October 16 after suffering a knock in the first leg in Lomé.

Barrow assists in Reading return

Modou Barrow marked his return in the Reading team with an assist in the club’s 3-2 home win over Bristol City at the weekend.

The 26-year-old was left out of Reading’s squad in previous three matches due to what manager Paul Clement described as ‘disciplinary issues’.

Steve’s Guizhou relegated from Chinese Super League

Scorpions international Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally’s Guizhou Zhicheng have been relegated to the second-tier of Chinese football after a disappointing campaign in the Super League at the weekend.

Guizhou’s fate was sealed with a 2-0 defeat to Guangzhou R&F which consigned them to relegation to China League One.
