Steve nets goal number eight for Yanbian

Bubacarr Trawally continues to be making waves in the Chinese Super League after he fired his eight goal for Yanbian Fude in their 1-1 draw at Changchun Yatai.

Steve, who scored in last week’s 3-1 home win over Tianjin Teda, gave the bottom-placed team the lead in the 54th minute, tapping in a cross from the left.

Tijan’s team head to Bulgaria

Gambia midfielder Tijan Jaiteh and his Qatari side Al-Markhiya Sports Club are set to leave their comfort zone in Doha to travel to the Bulgarian capital of Sofia for a two-week pre-season training camp.

The Scorpions international, who joined Al-Markhiya from Israeli club Bnei Yehuda last month, is set to be a mainstay in midfield as his side continue their preparations for the 2017/18 Qatar Stars League (QSL) season, which kicks off in mid-September featuring 12 clubs after the Qatar Football Association’s decision to decrease the number from 14.

Buba Sanneh tops Horsens scoring chart

Bubacarr Sanneh is currently AC Horsens’ top goal scorer after the Gambia defender netted in the team’s 1-1 draw at Danish league champions FC Copenhagen on Saturday.

The Scorpions international was readily available to tap in a goal off the woodwork in the 31st minute to get the home side agitated though they pull level thirteen minutes from time to share the spoils.

Scorpions rise in FIFA ranking

The Gambia has gained three places up in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World ranking to lie at 158 in the world and 50 in Africa.

The rankings, released by world football governing body, FIFA, on Thursday morning, places the Scorpions just above Mauritius, São Tomé e Príncipe, Djibouti, Seychelles, Eritrea and Somalia on the African continent.
