Gambia tumbles on FIFA rankings

The Gambia has seen its fortunes tumble on the FIFA rankings ahead of next Friday’s international friendly against the Central African Republic.

The Scorpions fell down one place on the March rankings to lie 164 on the world ranking though it remained 48 in Africa.

GFF appoints Lie Bojang as new U-17 Coach

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has appointed Steve Biko gaffer Abdoulie Bojang as the new head coach of the country’s U-17 team with effect from 1 March 2018 for a period of two years.

Bojang, 39, a CAF B License holder was an ex-footballer of national football team and played predominantly as a central midfielder for Steve Biko Football Club in the top flight Gambian league and all categories of our national teams between the years 1996 to 2002. He received his first call up to the junior national team level in 1996 and through his dedication, hard work and determination; he was promoted to the senior national team of The Gambia in 1998 and remained there until his retirement in 2007.

Gambia call-up squad for CAR friendly

The Gambia has called up its squad list set to host the Central African Republic (CAR) in an international friendly match next week Friday.

The squad, consisting of 22 players, sees the return of Baboucarr Gaye and Yusupha Bobb into the squad.

Yusupha Njie called up for Gambia friendly

Scorpions forward Yusupha Njie has been called up for the Gambia’s friendly match against the Central African Republic next week Friday, Gambia Sports can reveal.

The 24-year-old is currently the only player whose call-up has been made public by his club with the Gambia Football Federation yet to reveal its list of invited players.
