Horsens risk losing Buba in summer

Danish Superliga club AC Horsens risk star defender Bubacarr Sanneh leaving the club this summer after failing to open talks over a new contract. The Gambia international, who guided the club to league safety on the final day of the season, is one of the most sought after defenders in Denmark and abroad.

Minnesota United snaps Gambian forward

Major League Soccer club Minnesota United have secured the signature of Gambian attacker Ismaila Jome, it has been announced. Jome, who was born to Gambian parents Dodou and Jainaba Jobe on 4th November 1994 in Banjul, joins United having played three years with the University of California, Santa Barbara as both a defender and a winger.

Abdou Jammeh trains with Penang FA

Former Scorpions captain Abdou Jammeh is currently training with Malaysian Super League club Penang FA with a view to earning a contract, it has been revealed.

The 31-year-old, who left Qatari second-tier side Al-Shamal Sports Club after the elapse of his six-month deal, has been spotted in the Southeast Asian country undergoing a trial with Penang, who have compatriot Sanna Nyassi in their ranks.

Penang are in need of a strong cover and coach Zainal Abidin Hassan has been thinking of ways to remedy their leaky defense and has thus taken the experienced Gambian on trial. The Malaysian Super League is meanwhile on a five-week break for the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr celebrations but a move for the former Steve Biko, Torpedo Moscow, RoPS and Doxa Katokopia centre-back could happen should he impress.

The Malaysian league resumes with nine remaining rounds on July 1.

Championship clubs battle for Saidy Janko signature

Bristol City have been credited with an interest in Gambian defender Saidy Janko who impressed during a loan spell at Barnsley last season.

Bristol aren’t the only Championship club in for him as Reading and Sheffield Wednesday – who both reached the play-offs this term – have also been linked with the versatile right back, according to HITC Sport.

The former Manchester United player spent last season on loan with Barnsley but has since returned to parent club Celtic.

The 21-year-old helped the Scottish domestic treble-winners reach the UEFA Champions League group stages this season before moving to Oakwell on deadline day last summer, where he made 14 appearances and scored one goal.

The right-back, who can also play right midfield, was hampered with various injuries this term, despite impressing Tykes boss Paul Heckingbottom and missed three months of action from January to March.

He does not appear to be in Brendan Rodgers’ plans for Celtic despite having two-years left on his contract, which could result in him looking for a return to the Championship, where he has a number of admirers.
