Rennes take Gambia’s top scorer on trial

French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennais have taken Gambian league top-scorer Mustapha Drammeh on a two-week trial, it has been revealed.

The Bombada FC striker is currently with the U19 team of the Red and Blacks and recently featured in their 1-0 friendly win over FC Nantes in Mouzillon last weekend.

Ablie Jallow makes Ligue 1 debut

Gambia U20 captain Ablie Jallow marked his French Ligue 1 debut with a home defeat for FC Metz against champions AS Monaco at the weekend.

Ablie, who completed a five-year move to Metz, last month, made a landmark by becoming the first Gambian with the most minutes in the French top-tier, coming off for Matthieu Udol with 18 minutes remaining.

Pa Dibba nets in Hammarby win

Scorpions forward Pa Amat Dibba returned from suspension with a bang by scoring in Hammarby IF’s 3-0 win at Örebro SK in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Monday evening.

Dibba, who was suspended for three matches after his sending off in a 1-0 defeat at Jönköpings Södra last month, came off the bench to net Hammarby’s third goal three minutes after his introduction in the second half.

Savage brace powers HJK to victory

Scorpions winger Demba Savage scored twice as record-Finnish champions HJK Helsinki thumped to a 4-0 victory at JJK Jyväskylä on Sunday.

The 29-year-old, whose last goal came in a 2-0 win against IFK Mariehamn in June, opened the floodgates at the Harjun stadion as early as in the 2nd minute when he coiled in a Messi-like shot to give the visitors the lead before extending their lead in the 66th minute with two added goals later on ensuring a win to send HJK to the top of the Veikkausliiga with 49 points after 23 matches.
