Steve’s Yanbian end losing streak

Bubacarr Trawally’s Yanbian Funde at the weekend ensured they bring their eight game losing streak to an end by securing a 2-1 win at Guizhou Zhicheng.

The Gambia attacker, who has netted four times this season, pushed through for a goal with his efforts seeing Han Pengfei put through a 50/50 challenge with Steve in his goal. Kenya striker Michael Olunga pulled one back for the home side but Tian Yinong’s strike eight minutes from time ensured Yanbian record their second win of the campaign.A delighted Steve Trawally wrote after the game: “Glad we’ve finally secured a win after some poor results. Such a great team effort to win 2-1 at Guizhou Zhicheng. Forza Yanbian Funde!”

Yanbian have now moved out of the bottom of the league after the win and now lie 15th with 10 points after 15 matches.

Sumareh nets by Pahang lose

Gambian forward Muhamed Sumareh netted his fourth goal of the campaign though it wasn’t enough as Pahang FA suffered a damaging 2-1 defeat to Felda United that put a big dent on their Malaysian Super League title ambitions.

The loss saw the gap widened from six points to nine points after Johor Darul Ta’zim emerged victorious against Sanna Nyassi’s bottom-club Pulau Pinang.

Pahang started strongly and got the lead through their Gambian whizz-kid Sumareh in the first minute of the match but everything went downhill from there conceding in the 5th and 88th minute respectively.

Elsewhere, defender Abdou ‘T-Boy’ Jammeh debuted for his new club PKNS in their 1-1 home draw with Melaka United while Mamadou ‘Futty’ Danso’s Kelantan FA were beaten 2-0 at home by Sarawak.
