Steve Trawally reaches out to orphanage in Siffoe

Scorpions winger Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally ended his one-week stay in The Gambia with a donation to the Sheikh Uthaymeen orphan centre in Siffoe on Sunday morning.

The gesture, which is the third in less than two days, saw the Yanbian Funde marksman present the orphanage with bags of rice, sugar, onions, cooking oil and biscuits.

Steve Trawally donates to SOS Children’s Village and TYW

Gambia international Bubacarr Trawally has donated assorted foodstuffs, learning materials and sport gears to the SOS Children’s Village in Bakoteh.

The donation, which took place on Friday, was in honor of a promise the winger made after being presented with a cash prize of $5000, which came along with his Chinese Super League Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Regional Football Associations’ Presidents respond

The Presidents of the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) of Upper River Region, West Coast Region, Lower River Region, North Bank Region and Central River Region have in strongest terms rubbished the allegation made by some concerned stakeholders some weeks ago that the regional football elections were neither free nor fair.

Two weeks ago, a group of people who claimed to be concerned stakeholders of football convened a press conference to express their dissatisfaction in the way football is being run under the leadership of Lamin Kaba Bajo even though the Senior Scorpions have never qualified to a major Africa Cup of Nation competition.

George Gomez breaks silence on reported new Chairman for Sports Council

A displeased Chairman of the National Sports Council, George Gomez has told Gambia Sports that he felt annoyed and disrespected by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Henry Gomez, who is reported to have appointed a new Chairman for the Council.

“I have not been officially notified but only read it on the Standard Newspaper on Thursday. I was surprised and disappointed because I got a letter appointing me [as chairman] for two years. And I took the appointment after discussion with the ministry and I was convinced to take it up considering my record in sports development,” he told Gambia Sports from the United Kingdom.
