Steve nets hat-trick in Yanbian draw

Gambia winger Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally scored a first hat-trick in the Chinese Super League to help bottom club Yanbian Fude secure a draw at Beijing Guoan in an eight-goal thriller on Sunday.

The Scorpions international levelled the scores for the visitors at the Workers’ Stadium in Beijing, netting a penalty in the 29th minute before rounding the keeper for his second.

Scorpions head coach Omar Sise has implored the government to throw more support for the team after its early exit in the 2017 West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament.
