Nda Jagne leaves Sion for FC Zürich

Scorpions’ utility player Pa Modou Jagne has left FC Sion after four years to join their Swiss Super League rivals FC Zürich on a two-year contract. FC Zürich, promoted to the Swiss top-tier last season, signed the 27-year-old Gambia international on a deal that will keep him at the club until June 2019.

Cesena confirm Beck Jallow loan

Italian Serie B side AC Cesena have announced the signing of Gambia winger Lamin Jallow on loan from Serie A club Chievo Verona.

The 22-year-old leaves Chievo in search of better playing opportunities and has thus joined his third loan club. The former Real de Banjul forward spent last season on loan at Trapani where he scored thrice after 15 appearances. He is now expected to stay at the Bianconero (Black and whites) until the end of the 2017/18 league season, with an option of a permanent stay.

“Chievo player Lamin Jallow lands in Romagna on loan with buying rights,” a brief statement on Cesena’s website read. Beck as fondly called, joined Chievo in July 2014 from Real de Banjul club and recently signed a contract extension until 2020

Steve’s Yanbian end losing streak

Bubacarr Trawally’s Yanbian Funde at the weekend ensured they bring their eight game losing streak to an end by securing a 2-1 win at Guizhou Zhicheng.

The Gambia attacker, who has netted four times this season, pushed through for a goal with his efforts seeing Han Pengfei put through a 50/50 challenge with Steve in his goal. Kenya striker Michael Olunga pulled one back for the home side but Tian Yinong’s strike eight minutes from time ensured Yanbian record their second win of the campaign.A delighted Steve Trawally wrote after the game: “Glad we’ve finally secured a win after some poor results. Such a great team effort to win 2-1 at Guizhou Zhicheng. Forza Yanbian Funde!”

Yanbian have now moved out of the bottom of the league after the win and now lie 15th with 10 points after 15 matches.
