Sise’s Scorpions leave for WAFU tournament

The Gambia football team on Monday night left Banjul for Ghana where they will participate in the West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Cup of Nations.

The Gambia will play the opening game against the host Ghana on the 9 September, next Saturday.

Indian club sign Saihou Jagne

Indian side Shillong Lajong have announced the signing of Gambia striker Saihou Jagne ahead of the 2017/18 I-League season.

The 30-year-old striker last played in India for Fateh Hyderabad whom he scored 4 goals in 5 games for in the country’s second division league.

Hatib Janneh left disappointed after Mustapha Drammeh’s abscond

If there is anyone more disappointed and dumbfounded by Mustapha Drammeh’s reported abscond while on trial with French League 1 side Rennes, it is former Gambian footballer, Hatib Janneh.

The Gambia’s first division league side, Bombada FC striker, was in France for trial thanks to GloSports Company, which has Hatib Janneh as its Gambian partner.

Former Real de Banjul defensive midfielder passes away

The football fraternity is mourning the demise of former Real de Banjul and Gambia national team defensive midfielder John Gomez, commonly known as Pa Mundow, who passed away on Monday after a long illness.

Survived by a wife and kids, Pa Mundow is described as an illustrious player who rose to the ranks of Gambia’s generation of players during the 1970s and 80s and was described as one of the country's finest players at his time.
