GFF appoints Lie Bojang as new U-17 Coach

The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has appointed Steve Biko gaffer Abdoulie Bojang as the new head coach of the country’s U-17 team with effect from 1 March 2018 for a period of two years.

Bojang, 39, a CAF B License holder was an ex-footballer of national football team and played predominantly as a central midfielder for Steve Biko Football Club in the top flight Gambian league and all categories of our national teams between the years 1996 to 2002. He received his first call up to the junior national team level in 1996 and through his dedication, hard work and determination; he was promoted to the senior national team of The Gambia in 1998 and remained there until his retirement in 2007.

Omar Colley one of the best defenders in Belgium says journalist

Belgian journalist Sven Claes believes Gambia captain Omar Colley is one of the best defenders in the country’s top-flight.

Colley has enjoyed a fine campaign for KRC Genk, making 28 appearances this season and netting once to help his side into fifth in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and into the Play-offs of the Championship Round.

Yusupha Njie called up for Gambia friendly

Scorpions forward Yusupha Njie has been called up for the Gambia’s friendly match against the Central African Republic next week Friday, Gambia Sports can reveal.

The 24-year-old is currently the only player whose call-up has been made public by his club with the Gambia Football Federation yet to reveal its list of invited players.

Manneh nets first goal in Bulgaria

Scorpions youngster Alasana Manneh opened his goal scoring account for SFC Etar Veliko Tarnovo in their 2-1 defeat at Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia at the weekend.

The 19-year-old, sent on loan to Etar by parent club, FC Barcelona, leveled for the visitors in Sofia, through a sumptuous strike after they had fallen behind.
