Scorpions-eligible Sonko leaves AIK for Östersunds

Gambian defender Noah Sonko-Sundberg has left one of Sweden’s top clubs in AIK Solna to join their Allsvenskan rivals Östersunds FK on a three-year contract.

Sonko-Sundberg, who had been a league runner-up in 2013, has been with AIK for the past five years but struggled to cement a place with the Stockholm club, resulting to loan moves to GIF Sundsvall.

Gambian professional coach stage U-12 & U-15 football tournament

Gambian Professional Coach for UK-based Moneyfields F.C, Edrissa Sallah over the weekend staged an under 12 and 15 football tournament which is named after Late Alagie Housainou M.M Njai. The tournament was played at the Banjul KG5 Mini-Stadium.

This tournament which brought together six teams is aimed to promote grassroots football in the country and as well give chance to the kids to showcase their talent.

SJAG set to hold AGM January 27

The Sports Journalists’ Association of The Gambia (SJAG) will hold its 2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the 27th January, 2018 at the Independence Stadium Board Room.

During the AGM, the secretary general, Alieu Ceesay; and treasurer, Namory Trawally will present their reports for the year under review for members’ approval and also to reflect on the progress registered and the challenges faced during the past 12 months.

Sukuta and BEM to play "Sohna Super Nawettan Charity Match"

Plans are afoot by Gambia international midfielder Ebrima Sohna in collaboration with the Super Nawettan Organizing Committee to organize a replay match between 2017 Zonal Champions Sukuta and Barra Essau and Mayamba (BEM).

The game dubbed, "Sohna Super Nawettan Charity Match" is meant to raise funds, which will be plough back to communities through different supported projects.
