Scorpions continue to struggle on the latest FIFA rankings

The Gambia remain unchanged in the latest FIFA World Rankings at number 172 in the world after the first release of the list in two months and since the completion of the World Cup in Russia.

The Scorpions have also continued to struggle on the African rankings, lying at number 48, better than just Chad, São Tomé e Príncipe, Seychelles, Djibouti, Eritrea and Somalia respectively.

Kaba Bajo re-elected Gambia FA boss

Lamin Kaba Bajo has retained his seat as president of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF) after being re-elected for another four-year term during the federation’s Elective Congress on Saturday.

The event, held at a local hotel, saw Kaba Bajo garner 63 votes, with two invalid votes while six delegates abstained from the voting process.

Steve nets as Guizhou shocks Shandong

Bubacarr Trawally scored his ninth goal of the season in Guizhou Zhicheng’s first home win of the 2018 Chinese Super League campaign.

Dubbed Steve, the former Yanbian attacker orchestrated Guizhou’s win as they inflict a first defeat since April 8 on visiting Shandong Luneng at the weekend.

Bubacarr Sanneh begs Midtjylland for Anderlecht move

Gambia international Bubacarr Sanneh has told FC Midtjylland he wants to join Belgian giants Anderlecht and wants the Danish champions to accept their latest offer of €6million, Gambia Sports can report.

The Scorpions defender only joined Midtjylland in January 2018 from AC Horsens for €200,000 and is growing frustrated at the club’s demands as they try to push the fee higher after rejecting an initial offer of €3.5m which has now risen to €6m.
