Gambia Coaches Association first VP resigns

The head coach of Gambia First Division side GAF, Ebou Jarra has confirmed his resignation as the 1st Vice President of The Gambia Football Coaches Association (GFCA) with immediate effect.

The former Tallinding United coach told Gambia Sports in an interview that he decided to quit as a result of the unclear stance of the Coaches Association President Pa Suwareh Faye on the Lamin Kaba Bajo-led GFF leadership, which he said, has been highly criticized by stakeholders.

Batti Jaha crowned champions of Nianija district Nawettan

Batti Jaha captured the 2017 Nianija district Nawettan football tournament after playing unbeaten among 13 clubs including the two sides from the district capital, Chamen Nianija. 

Batti Jaha and cross-town rivals Buduk Sarreh Janko played out a scoreless draw in the final game of the tournament last Saturday before the game proceeded to penalty kicks which ended in a 5-4 win in favour of Batti.

Kekuta Manneh unsure on MLS future

Gambia-born winger Kekuta Manneh has admitted his future beyond the end of the Major League Soccer season with Columbus Crew remains up in the air.

The 22-year-old, who was traded to Columbus by Vancouver earlier this year, is in the final year of his contract and was unable to come to terms on a new deal with the Whitecaps.

Real de Banjul appoint new gaffer

Gambia First Division club Real de Banjul have announced the appointment of assistant coach Majorr Saine as its new gaffer ahead of the 2017/18 league season.

Saine, who is in his fourth season with the club, signs on a one-season contract with an option for an extension.
