Gambia and Africa’s best referee Bakary Papa Gassama has been scheduled to officiate the return leg of Cameroon’s 2018 FIFA World Cup match against Nigeria in September.

Papa has been designated to be at the centre for the big clash between the reigning African champions and the three-time African champions in Yaounde on September 4, assisted by Jean-Claude Birumushahu of Burundi and Aden Marwa Range of Kenya with compatriot Maudo Jallow serving as the fourth official.

Henriksen admits keeping Buba Sanneh will be difficult

AC Horsens coach Bo Henriksen admits that he will find it hard to keep his best players particularly Gambia defender Bubacarr Sanneh.

The Horsens gaffer says he would love to keep his best players, particularly Sanneh and Mads Bech Sørensen but concedes that it will be hard as the two continue to attract interest.

Ali Sowe sent on loan to Albanian club

Gambia striker Ali Sowe has joined Albanian Cup runners-up KF Skënderbeu on a one-year loan deal from Italian Serie A club Chievo Verona.

The Albanian Superliga side is the 23-year-old’s eight club that he has been sent out on loan to by parent club, Chievo.

MLS side Red Bulls sign Muhamed Keita

Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls have announced the signing of Gambian forward Muhamed Keita from Polish club Lech Poznań on Friday.

The 26-year-old spent six years with Norwegian club Strømsgodset from 2008 to 2014, scoring 18 goals in 125 appearances, before moving to Poznań and loaned to several clubs in Norway during his three years in Poland.
