Coaches Association to organize award ceremony for Tapha Manneh

The Gambia Football Coaches Association will be organizing an award ceremony today, Wednesday in honour of their comrade coach Tapha Manneh after his record breaking achievement in his first with LISCR FC in the Liberian league.

The ceremony will take place at the Independence Stadium in Bakau starting 5pm and it will be graced by football coaches and the President of GFF, Lamin Kaba Bajo.

Steve Trawally reaches out to orphanage in Siffoe

Scorpions winger Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally ended his one-week stay in The Gambia with a donation to the Sheikh Uthaymeen orphan centre in Siffoe on Sunday morning.

The gesture, which is the third in less than two days, saw the Yanbian Funde marksman present the orphanage with bags of rice, sugar, onions, cooking oil and biscuits.

Gambia to play Burkina Faso in AWCON qualifier

The Gambia has been drawn with fellow West African country Burkina Faso in the first round of qualifiers of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations.

The drawing of lots, that took place at the CAF Headquarters in Egypt, saw the women’s national team facing Burkina in Ouagadougou on the weekend of February 26 to March 6 before Gambia hosts the following weekend.

Regional Football Associations’ Presidents respond

The Presidents of the Regional Football Associations (RFAs) of Upper River Region, West Coast Region, Lower River Region, North Bank Region and Central River Region have in strongest terms rubbished the allegation made by some concerned stakeholders some weeks ago that the regional football elections were neither free nor fair.

Two weeks ago, a group of people who claimed to be concerned stakeholders of football convened a press conference to express their dissatisfaction in the way football is being run under the leadership of Lamin Kaba Bajo even though the Senior Scorpions have never qualified to a major Africa Cup of Nation competition.
