Baby Scorpions off to Senegal ahead of WAFU U-17 tournament

The Gambia National U-17 team (Baby Scorpions) will on Monday afternoon depart the country for Senegal ahead of the WAFU Zone A U-17 Tournament which will commence on 8th September 2018.

Coach Lie Bojang and his charges are preparing to fulfill their task given by the Gambia Football Federation’s desire to qualify the Baby Scorpions to the Total Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania 2019.

Eupen take Marreh on loan

Gambia midfielder Sulayman Marreh has joined Belgian side KAS Eupen on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old garnered interest from clubs around Europe and even underwent a trial in France with Ligue 2 side Racing Club de Lens but nothing came off it.

Buba completes Anderlecht move

Gambia defender Bubacarr Sanneh has left Danish champions FC Midtjylland to sign a five-year contract with Belgian giants RSC Anderlecht.

The Scorpions defender, who only joined Midtjylland in January 2018 from AC Horsens for €200,000, leaves the Scandinavian country after four years for a new adventure in Brussels.

Assan Ceesay swaps Lugano for Zürich

Gambia striker Assan Ceesay has left FC Lugano to join their Swiss Super League rivals FC Zürich on a four-year contract.

The 24-year-old left the club in the southern city for the club located in the largest city in the sovereign European state for an undisclosed fee.
