Minister Gomez wants Gambia host AFCON 2025

The Minister of Youth and Sports has a vision, which is to see The Gambia jointly host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with neighboring country, Senegal.

Minister Henry Gomez made this revelation in an interview on West Coast Radio's Sports File on Monday.

Sports Minister breaks the silence on NSC-GFF Saga

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Henry Gomez has finally broken his silence on the two-week standoff between The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) and the National Sports Council (NSC), which resulted in the latter suspending the former.

The Sports Council suspended the GFF executive pending an investigation following allegations of financial mismanagement and election irregularities by a group of individuals claiming to be ‘concerned stakeholders.’

Beck Jallow continues scoring spree

Scorpions attacker Lamin Jallow continued his scoring spree in the Italian second-tier after firing in his seventh goal of the season in Cesena’s 3-3 draw at promotion-chasing Frosinone on Saturday.

Jallow, who goes by his moniker of Beck, leveled the scores for struggling Cesena who were on the brink of a 3-2 defeat before the Gambian rose to the occasion to rescue a point for the Black and Whites.

Barrow tops Reading scoring chart

Modou Barrow has continued his fine string of performances after the Gambia international scored two goals in quick succession as Reading FC picked up their second win on the spin with a thrilling 3-1 victory at Sunderland.

The Scorpions winger scored twice in the 68th and 71st minutes to follow up David Edwards’ opener eight minutes after half-time to secure Reading their first win at Sunderland since 2005.
