Interior beat Red Scorpions to win Gambia women’s football Clásico

A dramatic 4-3 shootout helped Interior FC beat arch rivals Red Scorpions to win the 2018 Gambia Women’s FF Cup final after a drab goalless 90 minutes contest.

In a game short on clear-cut opportunities, substitute Penda Bah (Gambian Women’s National Team skipper) of Interior had a goal disallowed for offside just seven minutes from time.

Sohna’s Keşla handed Balzan test in Europa League

Scorpions midfielder Ebrima Sohna’s Keşla FK have been paired with Maltese Premier League side Balzan FC in the first qualifying round of the 2018/2019 UEFA Europa League.

Sohna’s Keşla, who won their first Azerbaijan Cup title last month, will travel to the Maltese side, who finished second in its championship on July 12 before hosting them a week later at the 8125- capacity Inter Arena in Baku.

Gambian Journalist bags honorary appointment in Kazan

Gambian multiple award-winning Sports Reporter of the Year, Omar Jarju, has been appointed Ambassador of the International University Sports Federation for the next two years.

Jarju, 27, plus other 117 young leaders from all over the world, were appointed FISU Student Ambassadors for 2018/2019.
