Pa Dibba opens Shenxin account

Striker Pa Amat Dibba opened his Shanghai Shenxin goal scoring account in the club’s 4-1 home loss to Changchun Yatai in the Chinese League One.

The Scorpions international, who left Chinese Super League side Shenzhen FC to join second-tier club Shanghai Shenxin on loan until the end of the season in February, opened the scores at the Jinshan Football Stadium but the home side failed to hold on their advantage after Yatai fired four unanswered goals.

Sowe continues scoring spree

Striker Ali Sowe continued his scoring spree for Bulgarian club CSKA Sofia, this time netting a brace at compatriot Alasana Manneh’s SFC Etar Veliko Tarnovo.

The Scorpions international, who netted a hat trick last weekend in a 5-1 win over Septemvri Sofia, found his scoring boots again, this time with Gambian midfielder Alasana Manneh’s Etar, the culprits, as the former Chievo Verona striker scored in the 69th and 81st minutes respectively to hand the visitors a 3-1 win.

Cameroonian refs for Algeria-Gambia clash

Cameroonian referee Neant Alioum will be the man in charge of the Gambia’s game away to Algeria in the return leg tie of the final round of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next week.

Central referee Alioum, 36, will be assisted by his compatriots Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue and Ernest Nkeniji Ekokobe as 1st and 2nd assistants respectively.

Kandji completes Iran move

Scorpions-eligible Macoumba Kandji has signed a short-term deal with Iranian Persian Gulf Pro League side Sanat Naft Abadan FC, Gambia Sports can report.

The 33-year-old, born to a Gambian parent, joined Sanat on a free transfer after leaving Finnish side FC Honka where he scored 16 goals last season.
