GFF Div One Update: PSV secure first win as Wallidan bounces back

Looking doomed as they head into Week 17 of the Gambia’s First Division league, PSV Wellingara’s slim quest for survival received a welcome boost on Friday when they stunned title hopefuls Brikama United with a 1-0 win at the Box Bar mini stadium.

For the first time in their history, the Wellingara-based side’s points in the top flight reached double figures with the three points taking the maiden first division campaigners to 11 points, five adrift of safety with night matches remaining.

Foday Trawally pens Vejle deal

Danish top-tier side Vejle Boldklub have completed the signing of Gambian teenager Foday Trawally on a two-year contract.

Foday, who penned the deal on his 18th birthday on Thursday, is the younger brother of Scorpions international and Al-Shabab Riyadh FC forward Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally.

GFF Div Two Update: Waa Banjul extend lead while Sporting Real falter

A whooping 20 goals were scored at the weekend in Week 19 of the Gambia Football Federation Division Two league.

The biggest winners were Waa Banjul who mauled Brufut United 3-0 at the Box Bar mini stadium in Brikama to open up a four-point lead at the top of the table. They’re on 42 points, followed by Sporting Real in second with 38 points.

Jatta nets second Paide goal

Gambian youngster Alassana Jatta scored his second goal of the season for Paide Linnameeskond in their 2-0 home win over JK Tallinna Kalev in the Estonian Meistriliiga on Saturday.

The 20-year-old, who opened his goal account on his debut against champions Nõmme Kalju earlier this month, gave the home side the lead at the Paide linnastaadion after 14 minutes before Sander Sinilaid capped off the win in the 59th minute.
