Steve Trawally joins Emirati side Ajman

Gambia international Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally has completed a loan move to UAE Pro-League side Ajman Club from Saudi club Al-Shabab Riyadh.

The 24-year-old was Ajman’s transfer deadline day signing on Monday as he joins them on loan until the end of the season.

The Scorpions forward joined the Orange Brigade after a short spell with Al-Shabab, scoring three goals in 11 league appearances for the Saudi Arabia-based outfit.

“I am happy moving to the Emirates and Ajman in particular. They showed confidence in me and showed that they wanted me and that’s why I am here,” Trawally told Gambia Sports from the capital of the emirate of Ajman.

He added: “I actually had several offers before the European transfer window closed but a deal couldn’t be agreed with Al-Shabab and that was why I didn’t move. Several other offers from Middle Eastern countries came but it wasn’t where I wanted to go until Ajman came in, expressed their interest and told me about their exciting project, which is what convinced me to come here.”

“I expect to continue from where I left off in the past seasons and to do well for Ajman by scoring goals and helping the team win matches.”

The former Yanbian Funde and Guizhou Zhicheng attacker is expected to debut for his new club when they welcome Al-Wasl at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Stadium on Friday.

Ajman Club currently lie fourth on the 14-team UAE Pro-League table with four points after two outings.
