Zürich re-sign Nda Jagne

Swiss Super League side FC Zürich have re-signed Gambia captain Pa Modou Jagne on a nine-month contract.

The 29-year-old, who joined Zürich on a two-year contract from FC Sion in 2017, left the club after his contract ended in June after finding himself down the pecking order and battling with injuries.

But despite officially leaving the club, Jagne stayed on to train and regain his fitness with the club’s reserve side where he turned heads with the club’s management now offering him a deal until next year.

“Pa Modou returns to the city club and signs a contract until June 2020. We look forward to the return of Pa Modou and wish him every success with FC Zürich,” the club said on a statement on its official website.

“I am very grateful to be back at Zürich. It’s a club where I spent two years and the treatment i received there with the fans was great. The fans really love me and they keep sending me messages to return and when the news broke, they were all happy,” the former FC Sion and FC St. Gallen 1879 defender said after the announcement of his return to the club.

Zürich currently lie eight on the 10-team Swiss Super League table with five points after six outings.
