Scorpions continue rise on FIFA rankings

The Scorpions of the Gambia have continued its rise on the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking with the latest ranking seeing the country occupy position 161.

The Scorpions, ranked 163 in last month’s ranking, moved up two places securing a total point of 1002.

The rise can be attributed to the country’s recent back-to-back friendly wins over Guinea Conakry and Morocco respectively.

Senegal maintained their ranking as the continent’s number one football nation heading into the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tunisia (global ranking, 25th), Nigeria (45th), Morocco (47th) and the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC (49th), complete the top five list of teams in Africa.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 25 July 2019.
