Porto interested in Jatta

FC Porto have registered their interest in Gambian striker Alassana Jatta, according to a report in the Estonian media.

The 20-year-old has scored eleven goals in eleven league appearances for Paide Linnameeskond, sparking talk of a move to the Portuguese giants.

He scored five goals in his side’s 7-0 thumping win over FC Kuressaare on Wednesday, a feat which has attracted the attention of Porto, according to Soccernet.

The Estonian sports publication claims it is aware of an interest for Jatta from Porto, who want the striker for their reserve side.

But Jaanus Pruuli, CEO of Paide says he is unaware of interest from Portugal but confirmed the striker is attracting interest from elsewhere with an unnamed club monitoring his situation.

“Obviously there is a good interest in Jatta as we had a foreign club who were present at the game (against Kuressaare). We do not have any pressure to sell anyone but if the player is doing well, we must allow him to move forward,” he said.

Pruuli revealed that the club’s other Gambian player in defender Muhammed Sanneh, is also attracting interest saying that: “In addition to Jatta, Muhammed Sanneh, who has shown a very high quality since arriving, is also being explored.”
