Foday Manneh leaves Vejle for HIFK loan

Vejle Boldklub have announced on Thursday they have loaned Gambian teenager Foday Manneh to Finnish side HIFK Fotboll until the end of June 2019.

Manneh made seven appearances for the struggling Danish Superliga side’s U19s, scoring three goals in their matches against SönderjyskE, FC Midtjylland and FC Copenhagen youth sides respectively.

The 19-year-old forward, who joined Vejle from local side Real de Banjul, has been sent on loan to the Veikkausliiga club in search of first team football.

“Foday Manneh has been sent to Finnish side HIFK Football where we hope he gets the playing time at the highest Finnish level that his talent justifies. Since joining the club, Foday has trained and played matches with our U19 where he has performed well and scored several goals,” sports director Jacob Krüger said on Vejle’s official website.

“Foday was a part of the team that took many points and consolidated the team in the best place. The goal of his loan in Finland is that he gets senior experience and is best equipped to return to Vejle Boldklub.”

Manneh is expected to debut for his new club when they host FC Lahti at the Telia 5G -areena stadium in Helsinki on Monday.
