Ceesay nets second goal

Striker Assan Ceesay was in joyous mood at the weekend as he scored his second goal of the campaign for FC Zürich who were held to a 1-1 draw at basement side Grasshopper.

The Scorpions international, whose last goal came in a 2-1 win at FC Sion in September, raced down the wings after a through ball from teammate Levan Kharabadze before unleashing a left-footed shot past the home side’s goalkeeper in the 30th minute.

But the visitors failed to collect the maximum points as the home team snatched a draw to ensure the Zürich derby ends with a point apiece.

The game meanwhile marked the return into the starting line-up for Gambia captain Pa Modou Jagne, who has recuperated from an injury that ruled him out of the Scorpions’ 1-1 draw in Algeria in the final round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last month.
