Steve nets second Shabab goal

Scorpions forward Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally scored his second goal for Al Shabab in their 1-1 draw at Al Ettifaq in the Saudi Pro League.

The 24-year-old, who opened his scoring account in a 2-1 home win over Al Faisaly last weekend, gave Shabab the lead in the 23rd minute after being set-up by Algerian teammate Djamel Benlamri.

The former Yanbian Funde and Guizhou Zhicheng attacker breezed past the Ettifaq defence from inside the Shabab half before rounding off Algerian keeper Raïs M’Bolhi to net his second goal of the campaign after six matches.

Steve, who joined Shabab on a three-and-a-half-year contract last month, continues to be a surprise exclusion in Gambia coach Tom Saintfiet’s squad as he fails to name him in the Scorpions’ team set to face Algeria in the final round of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Friday.
