Scorpions international Bubacarr ‘Steve’ Trawally had a poor start to his career in Saudi Arabia as he endured defeat on his debut for Al-Shabab Riyadh FC who fell to a 1-0 loss at Al-Fateh SC this weekend.
The 24-year-old, who completed his three-and-a-half-year move to the Saudi Pro League club early this month, was introduced in the second period of the game to a standing ovation from the visiting Al-Shabab fans.
But he had his night spoiled in the end as the home side took all three points at the Prince Abdullah bin Jalawi Stadium with an 88th minute strike.
Al-Shabab had a night to forget in Al-Hasa as a missed penalty and a red card capped off a bad day as they fell to fourth on the standings with 34 points.
The Gambia forward will meanwhile be looking for a successful home debut for Al-Shabab who welcome Al-Wehda Club Mecca at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh on Friday.
