Ali Sowe turns CSKA Sofia loan permanent

Scorpions international Ali Sowe has signed a permanent contract with Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia after impressing on loan from Italian side Chievo Verona.

The 24-year-old moved to Sofia on a season-long loan in the summer but has now signed a contract until 2022.

Sowe has been instrumental in the Bulgarian side’s impressive start to the season, scoring three goals in twelve appearances so far.

“The Gambia international arrived in the summer and has been playing like a soldier and with his performance, he deserved to stay in the ‘Bulgarian Army’ with a permanent contract,” a statement on PFC Sofia’s official website read.

CSKA Sofia, currently second on the Bulgarian top-tier with 45 points after twenty outings, will get the second round of their season underway when the visit PFC Cherno More Varna on March 16.
