Hamza marks return from injury with win

Scorpions midfielder Hamza Barry returned to action earlier than expected after featuring in Hajduk Split’s 3-1 home win over NK Istra 1961 at the weekend.

Barry was set to be out of action until the New Year after sustaining a knee injury in October ruling him out for the club’s last eight matches.

A scan on the knee showed that the former Ports Authority midfielder was to be sidelined till January but he has recuperated earlier than expected.

The 24-year-old was introduced by coach Siniša Oreščanin in the 64th minute to help cement the win for struggling Hajduk who now lie at sixth on the standings with 23 points after 17 outings.
