The Super Nawettan Organising Committee on Tuesday imposed a fined of D20,000 and a one-year ban on Serekunda West from hosting any home matches after their supporters’ behaviour in the encounter against rivals Serekunda East at the weekend.

The Organising Committee penalised West after one of their supporters threw a stone on the head of the assistant referee, leaving central referee Maudo Jallow with no option than to prematurely end the encounter that saw East secure a 2-0 win.

Referee Maudo blew the final whistle immediately after his assistant recuperated from the injury after treatment from the Red Cross officials.

Soon after bringing the match to a halt, some section of the Serekunda West fans started throwing stones to players and supporters of the winners.

The melee resulted in the Super Nawettan Organising Committee to impose a fine and a year’s ban on SK West barring them from hosting home matches in next year’s competition.
