Étoile du Sahel sign Gambian striker

Tunisian side Étoile Sportive du Sahel have completed the signing of Gambian striker Adama Jammeh from local club Armed Forces.

Jammeh, who guided the Gambia U20 to a WAFU Cup triumph in Liberia, was handed a two-week trial in Sousse.

He impressed the coaching staff of the 10-time Tunisian league champions before the management offered him a four-year contract, putting pen to paper at the weekend.

“This milestone development [Adama Jammeh’s transfer] is described as a move in the right direction as more players within the Gambia Armed Forces setup look forward to more opportunities abroad to showcase their talents,” the Khaki Boys said in a statement on its official website.

Étoile Sportive du Sahel, one-time African Champions and two-time CAF Confederation Cup champions, are currently 4th in the ongoing Tunisian league with four points after two outings.
