Scorpions international Ebrima Sohna has extended his stay in Azerbaijan with Keşla FK for a further year, Gambia Sports can report.
The Gambia combative midfielder joined the two-time Azerbaijan Premier League champions on a short-term deal in January.
But after guiding them to their first Azerbaijan Cup title, the Baku-based club decided to beat off competition from clubs outside of Azerbaijan to hold on to their midfield kingpin.
Sohna’s new deal will now see him stay with Keşla until June 2019.
Sohna featured for Keşla who were outclassed by Maltese side Balzan FC in the first leg of their first qualifying round of the 2018/2019 UEFA Europa League.
The former Al-Arabi SC, Kuopion Palloseura, FC Vostok, Rovaniemen Palloseura, Sandefjord and Wallidan player is the second Gambian to ply their trade in Azerbaijan’s top tier after compatriot Maudo Lamine Jarjué, currently on the books of Sabail FK.
