Bubacarr Sanneh attracting interest from abroad, says Midtjylland director

Gambia defender Bubacarr Sanneh is attracting foreign interest less than six months into his FC Midtjylland career, according to the club’s sporting director Svend Graversen.

The Scorpions international has been the subject of interest from clubs in the English Premier League, the German Bundesliga and Spanish La Liga, according to Graversen.

The 23-year-old, who left AC Horsens for the Herning-based club in November 2017, ended the season with a league winner’s medal, scoring seven goals during the campaign.

“I experience a completely natural interest for a player who has both performed as he did in AC Horsens and he is now doing very well for us in the Super League and I am not surprise that there is an interest in Bubacarr Sanneh,” Graversen is quoted as saying by Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet, during Midtjylland’s title celebrations on Tuesday.

Midtjylland captured Sanneh’s signature after he came close to joining rivals Brøndby IF. He made 12 appearances for the club since January, scoring thrice and clocking 911 minutes in the process.

It remains to be seen if Midtjylland will be able to hold on to their strong center-back, who is valued at 800,000 Euros, before their UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
