Gambian quartet in South Korea trials

Gambian quartet Daniel Mendy, Malang Faye, Abdoulie Gomez and Baboucarr Jallow are currently in the East Asian country of South Korea for trials with K League 1 side FC Seoul, Gambia Sports can report.

The players left the country at the weekend for the Republic of Korea where they’ll spend the next six-weeks with the top-flight club with a view to signing a professional contract.

Jallow is a player from Gambian champions, Gamtel, while the trio are players of 2010/11 champions, Brikama United.

“I’m very delighted for my boys, this is a big opportunity for them to excel easily, six-weeks football trials is a very rare chance nowadays, this will come as a great boost for the rest of their team mates behind to even push harder,” Brikama’s gaffer, Modou Lamin Nyassi, is quoted as saying on the club’s official Facebook page.

FC Seoul are six-time Korean league champions and have ended as runners-up twice in the Asian Champions League.
