Chelsea, Spurs and other Euro clubs target Barrow

English giants Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have joined Inter Milan, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign Atalanta’s Gambian youngster Musa Barrow.

The 19-year-old Gambian, who has been on the books of Atalanta since 2016, is attracting interest from a cluster of top clubs, according to various media reports.

The former Hawks FC striker’s tally for the season now stands at three goals and two assists in just 356 minutes of Serie A action and is no surprise why his displays is attracting major interest.

He made his first Serie A appearance as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Crotone on February 10 with a first start for following up, a 0-0 draw with Inter Milan, in April.

Barrow’s first goal of the season came just three days later, in 3-0 win over lowly Benevento and has been directly involved in an Atalanta goal in every appearance since, registering an assist against Torino before back-to-back strikes against Genoa and Champions League-chasing Lazio.

Despite interest from the top European clubs, Atalanta president Antonio Percassi is reportedly keen to hold onto Barrow for at least one more season with the hope that further impressive displays over the course of the 2018/19 campaign will see the club able to command around €30m for the teenager.
