Yusupha Njie called up for Gambia friendly

Scorpions forward Yusupha Njie has been called up for the Gambia’s friendly match against the Central African Republic next week Friday, Gambia Sports can reveal.

The 24-year-old is currently the only player whose call-up has been made public by his club with the Gambia Football Federation yet to reveal its list of invited players.

Njie, currently courting interest from Spanish club Real Betis, Italian side Atalanta and French sides Olympique de Marseille and FC Nantes, will hope to bring in his club form for the Scorpions who haven’t won at home in a while.

The 5ft 8in attacker, on loan at Portuguese club Boavista from Moroccan side FUS de Rabat, is expected to compete for an attacking position in Technical Director-cum coach Sang Ndong’s squad.
