Ansumana Fatty: Hawks will give Akwa United a big fight Confederations Cup tie

Coach of Gambian side Hawks FC, Ansumana Fatty has said his team will give current NPFL leaders Akwa United a big fight when both teams meet this weekend in the first leg preliminary of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Coach who said that their poor current form in the Gambian league would be put aside to give Akwa United a big fight.

“We are looking forward to the match on Sunday. It will be a game played between 11 players and at the end let the best team win.”

The Gambian side landed in Uyo the Akwa Ibom State capital with a 27 man delegation comprising 19 players and 8 officials who touched down at the Ibom International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

They had their first training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Thursday, and will train on Friday and Saturday before the crucial game on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Gambia’s league champions Gambia Armed Forces are away in Zambia to face Zanaco at the Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday.
