Kaba Sambou joins compatriot at Skënderbeu

Scorpions defender Kaba Sambou has joined fellow countryman Ali Sowe at Albanian club KF Skënderbeu Korçë, Gambia Sports can confirm.

Sambou penned a two-and-a-half-year contract with the current Albanian league leaders who are on the verge of scooping their sixth title after going eight points clear.

Kabba, who signed on a free transfer, had a stint with Kosovo giants KF Trepça 89 last season, where he was crowned league champion and named in the Team of the Week and Team of the Month respectively.

“Football Club ‘Skënderbeu’ makes the 3rd and last strike in the market by signing with 21-year-old Kabba Sambou. The player had previously reached the deal with the club, but only today joined the group at ‘Tropikal Resort’ where he was first introduced to teammates and technical staff and then developed his first training session with a white shirt,” the club said in a statement on its official website.

The former Hawks FC and Stade de Mbour player partners up with compatriot Ali Sowe, who is currently on loan at the Albanian side.

Kabba, a versatile player who can also play in midfield, has featured five times for the Scorpions of the Gambia.
