Adams returns to Norwich, loaned to Leyton Orient

Gambia international Ebrima ‘Ebou’ Adams has joined English fifth-tier side Leyton Orient on loan from Championship club Norwich City until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joins Leyton, relegated from League Two last season, on a deal until the end of the season, having spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League One high-flyers Shrewsbury Town.

He made eight appearances in all competitions for Shrewsbury this season, starting just twice – in the Carabao Cup at Nottingham Forest and against West Bromwich Albion’s youngsters in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Speaking to Orient’s Youtube channel, Adams said: “It’s a great club and it’s a good chance for me to come here to a big club and to express myself and see what I can do. Hopefully I can push the team into a better position than they are right now.”

Adams began his career at sixth-tier side Dartford FC, making 23 appearances before making the move to the then-Premier League Norwich on Deadline Day in January 2016, becoming the Darts’ record sale in the process.

He had a brief loan spell at Braintree Town last season and was instrumental for a Norwich U23 side that reached two cup semi-finals last season, scoring six goals in 27 games.

He received his first call-up to the Gambian national team during his time with Shrewsbury, coming off the bench in the Scorpions’ 2-1 victory over Morocco’s CHAN in November.
