Joseph Colley leaves Chelsea for Chievo

Gambia-born defender Joseph Colley has left English Premier League side Chelsea to join Italian Series B club A.C. Chievo Verona.

The 20-year-old, who has been with the Blues since 2015, reportedly rejected a contract extension offered to him by the London-based outfit after failing to make a first-team appearance since joining the club from Swedish side IF Brommapojkarna.

Scorpions lose at home in World Cup qualifiers

The Scorpions of The Gambia kicked off their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 home defeat to Angola on Friday evening.

Visiting Angola grabbed the only goal of the game in the 35th minute through CA Petróleos Luanda midfielder Wilson Pinto Gaspar do Carmo who rose up to head a free-kick past keeper Modou Jobe.

Zürich re-sign Nda Jagne

Swiss Super League side FC Zürich have re-signed Gambia captain Pa Modou Jagne on a nine-month contract.

The 29-year-old, who joined Zürich on a two-year contract from FC Sion in 2017, left the club after his contract ended in June after finding himself down the pecking order and battling with injuries.

Gambian striker Alassana Jatta is in demand as he is attracting interest from a host of European clubs with Austrian Bundesliga side FC Admira Wacker Mödling the latest to express their interest.

The 20-year-old, who attracted interested from Portuguese giants FC Porto last month, is enjoying a tremendous first season in Europe with Estonian Meistriliiga club Paide Linnameeskond since joining them in January.
