New GFF General Secretary speaks on appointment

The newly appointed General Secretary of The Gambia Football Federation Lamin Jassey has vowed to help transform the Football House.

The GFF on Wednesday announced that it has appointed Jassey who has replaced Abass Bah and in his maiden interview with the media after his appointment, Jassey told Gambia Sports that he was motivated to apply for the position by good friends and respect stakeholders in football and after consulting his family.

Gambia FA appoints new General Secretary

The Gambia Football Federation has appointed Lamin Jassey as the body’s new general secretary following the end of erstwhile SG Abass Bah’s contract.

A release from the Federation said Jassey was among the several candidates who applied and the six shortlisted for the GFF top job and following a successful interview conducted last weekend, he finished overwhelmingly in pole position to be awarded the job of the administrative head of the GFF secretariat.

Gambia Armed Forces and Hawks know CAF club opponents

Gambia’s League champions Armed Forces have been drawn with Zambian side Zanaco FC in the preliminary round of the 2018 CAF Champions League qualifiers.

Armed Forces, who scooped their third Gambian top flight league title last season, will be entering into Africa’s top club competition for the second time since 2010.

Barrow wins Reading’s POTM

Scorpions winger Mo Barrow has been voted Player of the Month (POTM) at Reading after the Championship club’s supporters voted for him as their best player for November.

The 25-year-old, the only player to get into the top three for MOTM votes in all five games, is now Reading’s top scorer with six goals, the latest coming in their 2-2 draw with Cardiff City on Monday.
