Inter-schools Athletics: Bottrop, LK Sabiji Crowned Champions

Bottrop Kinderdoft Senior Secondary School has won the 2018 Interschool Athletics finals organized by the Gambia Secondary School Sports Association (GSSSA).

The three day event saw students show their talents on the tracks as thousands sat on the pavilions to watch.

The West Coast Regional powerhouse finished with 359 points from a total of 40 qualifiers.

Essau Senior grabbed the second place with 270 points followed by Gambia High School with 253 points. Bottrop has shown their supremacy in the competition after retaining the title for the third time in a row. Nusrat Senior School finished fourth position with 170 points and Bansang emerged 5th place with 130 points.

In the Upper Basic School category, Latrikunda Sabiji were in the best form as they finished top with 297 points. Barra-Essau Upper came second with 208 points. Presentation Upper emerged third with 192 points. Bansang and Tallinding finished in fourth and fifth positions with 105 and 101 respectively.

In the senior category, Bottrop received a giant trophy with cash prize of D100, 000, while Essau Senior received D50, 000.

In the Upper Basic category, Latrikunda Sabiji received a giant trophy with D50, 000 cash prize, while Barra-Essau Upper received D25, 000.
